WEEKLY UPDATE!! 8/28/22

I'm back from my vacation! Does anyone else ever get the feeling that they need a vacation from their vacation to recover from their recent vacation? Huh... Yeah, it's a weird feeling. Anyway...!

Progress report time! I'd like to say that the update is currently at about 60ish percent complete now. All of the room layouts in the floating castle have been built, though they still need to be furnished and properly tested. There are a lot of rooms to go through, but some areas are more complete than others. The construction of this massive dungeon is the largest to-do item on my list and that's why I've had to push the release as far as I have. However, in addition to the construction of the dungeon, I'm also doing a few cinematic events that require proper scripting. I'm being pretty ambitious with this final story update and trying new things has taken away an unexpected amount of time.

I am at the point now that I am able to travel from the beginning of the dungeon to the end and going through each area is a pretty cool feeling for me. Even if it is rather empty right now, the new music gives each area so much atmosphere that it doesn't bother me as much. I'm looking forward to sharing with you some images of another new area next week.

The majority of new character portraits, faces, and sprites have also been completed. However, I've only completed one Bad Ending scene so far. That's the next big hurdle once the dungeon is complete...

Speaking of art though, I do have a new piece to share with you all! Take a look at the game's second title screen!

Indeed, once you have reached the events of chapter 5, the game's title screen will change to this!

The image is actually a redraw of an illustration I made back in 2015. I thought the pose would be pretty cool to go back and draw again. It was the perfect warm up after returning from my vacation. I hope that newer players who don't read these weekly updates will be pleasantly surprised by this change.

That's all I have to share with you today. Until next week everyone!

It's amazing to see how much an artist's craft evolves throughout the years.  Oddly Mila's right hand looks a bit better in the original, but who ever said drawing hands was easy?

i agree with you there, drawing hands is not easy. I do some drawing (pencil and paper) and I suck at doing hands. They end up looking like Wall-E's hands. I am proud of my work with fine details though I do go overboard in that department. I doubt anyone wants to do coloring for a dragon picture where I do so much detail I end up drawing each individual scale.
