Aside from the fact that she's immortal, TWK is beatable. 10k health is enough to pretty consistently survive her strong attack. SP regenerates at 1% per turn and Regenerate replanishes almost full health, about 80% iirc, meaning that as long as TWK doesn't use that finisher attack every single turn, it's possible to draw out the fight forever without using up any resources, at least at max SP of 9000. Realistically, the amount i have is sufficient in the current iteration of the fight. If it can be drawn out forever, it could be beaten if it was coded to be possible + in my case dealing about 10k damage each turn (vampiric speed+double band). obviously this level of power turns the game to the narrative mode, though i personally don't mind. i don't know how feasable this would be, but it'd be awesome if there was some kind of "reverse bad ending" if this happens. Essentially Mila slays TWK, takes the Malisphere and the whole court trembles before her, maybe she abuses her power and becomes kind of evil, kills Anja, becomes a dictator or something like that. essentially an extended alternative, secret ending - in some sense a bad ending, but not exactly bad for Mila. how does that sound? or would you rather just stick to TWK being unbeatable?

[here would be a screenshot of my stats when i'm able to keep up with TWK, but itch.io isn't cooperating]

I have a question - what does one have to do to become a tester for the game? I really like your work, have some knowledge of programming, tend to be nitpicky, and like to push games to their limits, so I think I'd like that. Is it a possibility? If so, how big of a time commitment is it and what are the expectations?

PS: the hunter in the Humilem village sells infinite mana talismans for 2000 gold each, making them around 10 times cheaper than in the casino, and allowing an increase of 1000 SP for only 80 000 gold - which is not as much as it may seem. I like it, though i'm not sure it's intended

Also, how do the agility and evasion stats work? I tried increasing one, but it didn't increase the other. Do you generally have any kind of document that just explains stats? I've read the one on rpg maker page, but i'm not sure how they translate to the gameplay in crimson veil

Evasion and speed are two different traits and they don’t affect each other. I don’t have any documentation that further explains battle formulas.

ok, thanks ^^

Okay, i've tried deleting all previous downloads of the game from my phone and still experienced those weird bugs and eded up switching to my computer and holy shit is this awesome. I've once lost to the white knight bc i didn't want to betray the vampires and then decided that i will defeat it in one of my saves. Is it even possible? I think she has the same level as Mila no matter what. Is there actually any scene in case the white knight is defeated? Unless her health is genuinely infinite, i'm quite positive it is possible to defeat her if i get overpowered enough through the cassino despite the malisphere damage.

Also, huge kudos on the story and pet subplots. I've maxed out Ophelia and i've loved her ark. She reminds me of someone irl and i'm in awe of how you apply actual psychology into the game. It looks like you've seen a lot.

I'm just a bit confused about Claudia and her character shift. Her falholt version doesn't seem to add up well with how poorly she expresses herself in previous chapters.

The White Knight is immune to the knockout status, so even if you theoretically defeat her, she won’t die. The most you get is a dialogue where she comments on your skill before using a powerful attack on you. However, i didn't program it to kill you, so its possible to survive it. I have patched this to apply knockout, but the change will be added in the next update.

okay, thanks. I've got pretty far and am at a bit over 7000 health, so now surviving the attack seems almost possible with good RNG, though, though i think i'll just stop if there's no extra dialogue behind it even if you do survive that attack.

On my way there i've made some observations and have some questions and suggestions.

- TWK can be infected with vampirism and i'm quite sure it's unintended

- On PC, leveling up a pet at the same time as you beat the slime arena leads to a weurd bug. The dialogue from the arena and the pet are intertwined, and if you choose to go quickly to their location, you're given the rewards and are moved back to the slime cave, but the pet is nowhere to be found. When you get to their location, the cutscene automatically plays, and afterwards you're transported back to the slime arena, beginning a new trial for free. If the level up happens at any other time in the slime arena, it causes a slight bug with lighting, but nothing serious.

- Pets at max level are quite great, but are pretty underwhelmimg compared to Mila's sheer force and aside from enemies with weakness to them, they can be a little useless. Some notable exceptions are Seraphina's chaos well which works amazing on stron enemies and i love it, as well as Bianca's mind reading to reveal their weaknesses. If it wasn't for that, i wouldn't have realised that slimes are vulnerable to lightning - but i haven't levelled up the two from Rosenbald estate. Suggestion: maybe at 6th level pets wouldn't level up further, but their stats would be somewhat tied to Mila's?

- Seraphina doesn't seem to have an actual light element attack, despite it being her power in the story - she has lightning instead.

- All the pets' stories are really nice. So far loved Bianca the most and hated how Seraphina reminds me of a real person i know... I mean Ophelia too, but i hated the one Seraphina reminds me of. Still, love your storytelling.

- It's be cool if sanctusaid was at least somehow renewable, esp that slimes are and it's clearly useful for vampires for making thralls.

- Having beaten the slime arena around 30 times, i haven't seen the metal slime even once and i wonder if they exist lol

- Does luck stat impact the cassino, or is only the bunny girl clothes?

-I've added the resistances to TWK. Thanks for pointing that out.

-Huh. I've seen this bug occur when a level up triggers in certain scenes. As far as I can tell so far it hasn't caused any gamebreaking bugs, but I'm also not sure offhand how to resolve it. I'll continue to look into this issue.

-Mila's Pets are still normal vampires, their level of power is intended to be lower than Mila. I designed them to augment Mila's moveset while still leaving the option available for players to play the game solo (One of my testers plays this way).

-Seraphina gets access to the "Cross" skills, which are all Light element.

-Seraphina was definitely fun to write. I liked the idea of a servant that still wants to backstab you, but is conflicted with her feelings. Very Yandere of her. I think that Bianca is the best overall, but it's not really fair with all the extra development she's gotten throughout the game.

-Sanctusaid production has stopped because Mila destroyed one of it's main ingredients when she corrupted Maryn.

-Funny. When I tested it, I got two to appear on my first try.

-Luck stat only affects the battles. The only boost you get to casino games is the bunny ears.

Okayb these all make sense ^^

Oh, i'm also pretty sure that in Edith's level up to lvl 3 it's mentioned that Mila heard something from "Edith", and i'm guessing it was meant to be from Lauren. Also, i like that there exists a character who's more or less mentally healthy. A breath of fresh air after all the messed up shit in all the other ones.

having trouble getting the NPC that gives me the side quest for completing Bianca's pet level up to show up, and I've shown up in appropriate area listed in the walkthrough multiple times (after leaving the area completely  like I was instructed) after finishing the first contract in the Vampire route: is there something I should know here? :|

I forgot to include that you also need to have reached chapter 3-V. I have updated the guide to include this information.

okay then; thanks for that :)

Encountered 2 bugs so far (android). During fight with johannes tried using blood heal and game threw an error, something about null values - couldn't copy it, nor interact with the game in any other way, had to quit.

The other one was i think on save 8 after beating humilem. I wanted to check out the contracts, but the church door was locked - preventing the completion of contract 1 and thus further progress

Update: blood heal does crash the game seemingly everywhere. Also, in the fight with eve and vicilla, vicilla stays when she's supposed to run away

alright, I’ll take a look at it.

how is it going? Honestly i can't wait to play the new version and i don't know if it's playable yet

I just tested a fresh save file on the android version and I couldn’t recreate the bugs you mentioned. Blood heal worked as intended, and Vicilla did run away in the fight where she was supposed to. The issue with the church door was also patched a few weeks ago before the public release.

Are you positive that you are on 5.4.1 and not using a save file created in an older version?

(1 edit)

i deleted the game and reinstalled, and when i tried playing it, the bugs happened. I'm guessing it does have something to do with corrupted files, then.

Edit: i've cleared my phone a bit, reinstalled the game 2 times and it still doesn't work

How can I enter the contest and know its rules?

(+1)

I’m currently adjusting the rules for the upcoming contest. They will be posted on Sunday at the usual update time and I will be collecting the ideas via the email I provide in that same update.

In the meantime, just start cooking up loose ideas that are flexible enough to adapt to limitations.
